Do I need a reservationWe do not accept phone reservations. We strongly recommend booking online, especially for meal cruises. While you can purchase tickets at our ticket booth, there is no guarantee there will still be tickets available the day of a cruise, so booking in advance is always recommended.

How do I purchase tickets?Tickets may be booked online or purchased in person. Advance ticket booking is suggested for all of our cruises featuring a meal, as tickets may not be available on the day of cruising. If you have not booked tickets in advance, always call prior to arrival to check on availability. Our sightseeing cruises often have space right up until sailing.

Do you accept credit cards?Yes, we do accept credit cards for purchasing tickets prior to a trips departure. Credit cards are not accepted on board for beverages. The bar is cash only.

Is there reserved seating?There is no assigned seating for sightseeing cruises. Seating is assigned for ALL meal cruises. If multiple people in your party are purchasing their tickets separately and you would like to be seated together, please include a note in the “Requests/Comments” section of your reservation form with the names of everyone in your party when you purchase your tickets. Otherwise you may not be seated together. Please Note: the boat has two levels, with bars located on each. Please let us know if you wish to be seated downstairs on the main deck as seating on each deck is limited.

Will I get seasick?It is very unlikely. The River Queen cruises only calm, inland waters. We do not sail in the ocean.

What if it rains?The River Queen’s seating is fully enclosed and climate controlled, so you will not get wet. The River Queen sails rain or shine.

Is there a bar aboard the boat?Yes, there is a full cash bar featuring mixed drinks, beer, wine, juice, and soda. There is a bar located on both levels that are open for all meal cruises. Only the bar on the upper level is open for Sightseeing cruises. The bars are cash only. No electronic payments or credit cards are accepted on board the boat.

Can I bring my own food or beverages aboard?No, you may not. The River Queen is licensed by the New Jersey Alcohol Beverage and Tobacco Bureau and has a certified chef under contract.

Where does the boat cruise?The River Queen cruises the calm, inland waters of the Manasquan River, Point Pleasant Canal and Barnegat Bay, depending on boat traffic and the length of the cruise. Sightseeing cruises and our Pasta & Fireworks cruises sail on the Manasquan River only.

Is the boat air conditioned?The boat will be set according to the weather. On nice days all the windows and doors will be open so you can enjoy the beautiful weather. When needed, the boat will be heated or air conditioned for your cruising comfort.

What are your months of operation?The River Queen sails on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Brunch & Dinner Cruises, then begins sailing six days a week from July 1st through Labor Day. The River Queen is available for private parties from the second week of April through December 31st.

Can someone using a wheelchair get on board?Yes, but this question is best answered by speaking directly with the Captain prior to purchasing tickets to discuss your specific needs. With advance notice, every season we have many people using standard size wheel chairs aboard with minimal assistance needed from the Captain or crew. We cannot accommodate oversized or electric wheelchairs, standard wheelchairs only. Please don’t hesitate to call with questions.

When is the office open?Our office is open year-round. Spring, summer, and fall, we are open Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During the winter months (typically November through April), our hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and closed on Sundays.
